We are a group of people from different churches who meet every Saturday morning to pray for one hour from 8am to 9am. We pray for our world, we pray for our nation, we pray for the people who live in our town, we pray for our church and for those we know who are ill or in trouble of some sort and lastly we pray for ourselves. When we pray we speak to God, through his Son Jesus in the Spirit and God hears every word we say. God also answers our prayers although not always in the way we would want or in the timing we would wish for. God is all knowing, loving, compassionate, trustworthy, holy and faithful and He knows what is best for us so we pray and leave the answers up to Him. When we pray to God we also experience a peace within as we release our concerns into his hands- a peace that I’m sure many of us have experienced as we spend time with the Lord. The Bible tells us that God will give us immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine and Philippians chapter 4 verses 6 and 7 say ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus’. We would very much welcome anyone with a heart for prayer to join us either on a Saturday morning or on a Thursday evening at 7.30pm for our weekly Bible study and prayer meeting – we meet in the church hall. Prayer can be in silence or by spoken word – whichever is comfortable to you. We know through experience that prayer can and will make a huge difference to our lives and to the lives of those we pray for.
